Tell your MP to help save Canadian media from Big Tech

It’s not too late to save Canadian media from Big Tech. 

That’s the title of our latest policy paper, recently published by the International Institute of Communications as part of our ongoing work to stand up for Canadian voices in Canadian media.  

This paper sheds light on Big Tech’s stranglehold on the digital advertising market and the deep structural damage it’s causing to Canadian media—from mass layoffs to vanishing news outlets, to the massive influx of misinformation and disinformation online. Our recommendations offer real, actionable solutions to restore fairness and sustainability to our media sector while keeping Big Tech accountable for the content on their platforms.  

These proposals made a ton of headway in the last Parliament, but now it’s time to see some action. So, let’s keep up the momentum!
