Facebook, it’s got to stop

Over the past two decades, platform giants like Mark Zuckerberg’s Facebook have effectively unwound many of the fundamental legal and social mores that allow people in democratic societies like Canada to live together peacefully. And now, Facebook, YouTube, Twitter, and others want to rewrite our laws and norms — without our consent.

Our stories, the culture and norms and values that make us who we are, are worth fighting for. This is not the time for small visions and narrow expectations. It’s not the time to roll over to the Americanization of our politics and our culture.
