What Tyler Stewart is watching this weekend

Today’s Guest Curator is Tyler Stewart (pictured top, right), drummer for legendary Canadian pop band, Barenaked Ladies. Of their many hits, you'll probably remember "If I Had $1000000" most clearly. The chart-topping Toronto band is well-known for its comedic lyrics, so we were not surprised that Stewart chose a Canadian TV series that is making him laugh right now.

Tyler's pick: New Eden (TV Series)

Hi. I should be getting ready for our UK Tour right now, but suddenly, you know, that’s not happening any time in the near future. So…here’s something I’ve been digging in my (constant) downtime in self-isolation: New Eden on CraveTV.

New Eden is a whacky, scary “mockumentary” about an all-women commune in 1970’s British Columbia. The show is created by the hilarious minds of Evany Rosen and Kayla Lorette, who also star as the goddesses in charge of the crazy spiritual sisters. Rosen and Lorette are Canadian comedy veterans and they’ve created something amazing here. Equal parts sharp satire, slapstick, social commentary and true crime, New Eden is a quality, binge-able, laugh-out-loud comedy gem, cut from our own backyard.
